3 Prayers To Prepare For The Marriage Bed

The bible speaks boldly, commanding a husband and wife according to 1 Corinthians 7:5 (NKJV) saying:
Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 

Now in a world that teaches that it’s normal for men to be more sexually driven than women etc, this can cause serious problems in a marriage when such a standard is instilled in a wife’s mindset and emotions. The enemy will use these strange doctrines to attack the sexual intimacy in that marriage. It is sin to deprive the other person of a body that belongs to them. So where do you come in as an unmarried woman?
As a unmarried woman you can begin to prepare spiritually and mentally through prayer and fasting through the use of the Word of God. Below are 3 prayers you can pray as you prepare yourself to walk according to the biblical standard of that scripture, by the grace of God.



Prayer For A Willing Heart:
Sovereign Lord, I thank You for my future husband. I thank You for His life and purpose in my life. God, I request in the name of Jesus that you prepare me to be a wife that is willing to fully give my heart and body equally to him as long as I live. Open my eyes to see blockages that keep me from willingness to serve him with my body intimately. Teach, Empower and Counsel me daily, before he marries me and after he marries me, on how I can fully give myself to him sexually and intimately in times when my flesh is unwilling to do so. Show the prominency and sacrecy of sexual intimacy in our marriage, that I may walk with a willing heart daily. Give me a proverbs 31 wife heart that matches Your word when it says “she does him good and not evil all the days of her life”, that I may be wise in my ways and willing in my heart to serve with my body. This I pray in the name of Jesus Amen.

Prayer For A Faithful Heart:
Sovereign Lord I seek Your counsel, wisdom, understanding and patience in the area of sexual intimacy in marriage. I request for a faithful heart in sexual intimacy towards my future husband, O God. Mold in me a faithful heart not only for my husband but also for You and my future children as I serve You and them. Teach me how to be faithful in giving my body to my future husband in marriage both in good seasons and unpleasant seasons. Teach me the law of kindness with my body as you taught the proverbs 31 woman the law of kindness with her words as written in proverbs 31:26. Help me by the Counsel of Your Spirit to be faithful in my marital duties to my future husband. Teach me daily the statutes and hidden gems of faithfulness in marital intimacy. This I pray in the name of Jesus Amen.




Prayer For Godly Desire for Sexual Intimacy In marriage:
Sovereign Lord Your words are perfect and established. You established Your word when you said I should not deprive my future husband of my body and likewise he should not deprive me of his body. Lord I ask for a godly burning desire for my husband all the days of my life. Anoint us with an unquenchable fire of desire for each other all the days of our lives. Help me to always desire him, to always choose him and to always seek him. Deliver me from timidness and fear of intimacy and selfish love in marriage. Teach me the mysteries of transparency in sexual intimacy as you also teach my future husband the same. I make a covenant with my eyes right now to never desire another man nor lust after another, by Your grace let my eyes only be for my future husband all the days of my life. Help me to have a matching hunger and desire for him in as much as he has for me, all the days of our lives. This I supplicate in Your Name Jesus Amen.
